Dr. Vail is a Licensed Psychologist (Fl PY 003254) whose most recent employment was with the International Mission Board living overseas in Asia. She answered God’s call to serve as a missionary providing psychological services to missionaries and their families. She retired from this position in July 2021 after serving five years.

Dr. Vail had a private practice of psychology in Jacksonville for over 50 years. She has taught at several schools including Western Kentucky University, University of North Florida and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She has served on numerous Boards including Trustee, Jacksonville Baptist Children’s Home, Cerebral Palsy of Northeast Florida, Dean’s Educational Advisory Council-UNF, Deerwood Board of Governors, PALS Center Advisory Board, Learn to Read, and Head Start Advisory Board.

Dr. Vail has taken an active interest in The Covenant School of Jacksonville since its beginning in 2009. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors and coaches the Middle School tennis team.

God and family drive her value system. She is a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church where her parents were two of thirteen Founding Members. She is the mother of three amazing children who have three really “grand”children. Hobbies include tennis and golf, where she still plays in competitions. She is an avid sports fan, especially the ‘Noles, where she received her Ph.D.
