Meet Coach Worley
Meet Coach DeYoung
Coach Worley was raised in a basketball coaching family, and basketball has been a major part of his life since day one. He was voted as the MVP of his state tournament during his senior year of high school. In college, he served as a student assistant for the men’s basketball program.
Coach Worley has been a head varsity basketball coach for the last ten years. In those years he has amassed over 100 wins, an FHSAA 3A District title, and has sent almost 10 players to play at the collegiate level. In his first year with Covenant, he led a second-year girls program to a 19 win season and their first district and regional tournament appearance in the FHSAA.
In his free time, Coach Worley enjoys spending time with his wife, Kayla, his daughter, Blakeleigh, and his son, Cruz, whether in the gym, at the beach, or on the golf course.
Coach Deantre DeYoung grew up in the Chicagoland area, where his passion for sports took root early. Basketball was his first love, and during his senior year of high school he led the area in three-pointers and was selected to compete in the Voyager Media Prep Shootout All-Star Game.
He continued his playing career at William Penn University and Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. While in college, he served as Student Director of the Exercise Science Club and was selected for the ALPS athlete leadership initiative. He also earned certifications in personal training and strength and conditioning, allowing him to coach and mentor hundreds of athletes and individuals toward their performance goals. He has been Coaching HS basketball for the last 6 years.
Coach DeYoung brings a competitive mindset, an emphasis on character, and a deep belief that sports can shape leaders on and off the court.
