Coach Goodin is a native of Jacksonville, Florida where he played baseball his entire life. He played at Mayport Middle School, University Christian, and Sandalwood High School where he graduated. After graduating, he went on to play at Pensacola State College.

After his playing career he started his coaching career at Providence School of Jacksonville as well as Florida State College of Jacksonville where he was an assistant and recruiter. He returned to his alma mater where he was the pitching coach leading his staff to a team ERA of 1.89 for 2023-24. Coach John Goodin also has a highly successful travel baseball program in Sports Academy Seal Team Baseball that has been built over the past 4 years.

Coach Goodin is a follower of Jesus Christ and is excited to lead our students and athletes to the Lord. When you don’t see Coach John at the baseball field you will see him at EverBank Stadium rooting on the Jaguars.
