Upper School (Grades 6-12)

The Upper School continues to build upon the Grammar Stage of classical learning.  Upper School, scholars in grades 6 – 12, encompasses both the Logic and Rhetoric stages of classical learning.

The Logic Stage represents the middle school years where they gain understanding as they draw upon the knowledge already attained as well as new knowledge gained.   In this stage, they are learning to reason by asking questions, making observations, and discerning truth from fallacies.  The Rhetoric Stage represents the high school years where scholars are learning how to communicate effectively and with persuasion.

Also utilizing the Hillsdale K–12 curriculum, upper school scholars engage in Socratic dialogue, analytical writing, and deep reading of classical texts, all while being discipled in a distinctly biblical worldview.

Each discipline is taught in such a way to cultivate virtue and independent thought, equipping students to be well-studied, wise, and responsible citizens of both this nation and the kingdom of God. They grow into young men and women who understand His truth, seek His beauty, and live out His goodness.
